The Platform for Human Rights condemns the violation of human rights has been the country's population, through actions by law enforcement and legal bodies of the State.
Expresses to the national and international community the following:
1. Trauma, terrorism and illegal detention he was subjected by the President of the Organization Fraternal Negra de Honduras (OFRANEH), Miriam Miranda.
2. The Assassination of Professor Ivani ILSE RODRIGUEZ VELASQUEZ, last week in a protest of teachers in this capital.
3. The assault on human rights defenders and ignorance of the work in crisis and defend illegally detained by the military in the country.
4. The persecution of teachers' leaders as a result of the repressive policies of the military and police.
5. The indiscriminate and excessive force and tear gas and other chemicals from them, against any population group, especially the teachers, without considering the subsequent effects health, not only the demonstrators but also the homes of people that are close to areas of conflict.
6. The respect for freedom of expression and the frequent violation of human rights of journalists who cover the news in cases of repression, as well as alternative means cyber.
7. The issue of emergency laws and decrees that disrespect the rights acquired, saying the removal of these and the imposition of measures contrary to those contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, of which our country has subscribed.
8. The criminalization of public protest and the imposition of an anti-terrorism law causing the confinement of all kinds of people, condemning them as political prisoners.
9. With tear gas attacks against the Office of Truth Commission, located in the building of one of the teachers' associations of the capital, as well as the explosion that suffered the office located in the city of San Pedro Sula, which claims to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
10. The repression of youth of different educational levels to fight in defense of public education and quality to be provided by the State.
In this regard, strongly urge that:
1. Cease the violation of human rights of Hondurans and repression carried out by military and police under the direction of senior officials.
2. That dialogue and not violence is a constructive way of solving problems without infringing the rights of teachers, students, peasants and working class are the problems currently faced with the Honduran population.
